My Scoring System For Pubs

This part of the list was formulated over twenty years ago, so it was first thought of in the years before children.

• Name of pub
• Address, telephone number, and map reference
• Brewery or pub company
• Which beers are served, and by what dispensing method
• Quality of brews
• Atmosphere
• Food
• Price
• Service
• Decor
• Seating
• Standard of juke-box
• Other entertainments e.g. darts, pool, fruit machines
• Toilets
• Accessibility
• Car parks
• Gardens
• Maintenance of licensing hours

This part of the list was formulated over the period from twenty years ago to five years ago, so it was also first thought of in the years before children.

• Number of bars
• Type of fire e.g. coal, gas effect

This part of the list was formulated over the last five years, and so reflects the influence of our own children.

• Are children welcome in the pub, or only in the garden?
• Is the garden safe for children?
